Fashion Design Students Win Awards in FSC ‘The Forest in a Dress’ Competition
Prestigious recognition for three students from our Fashion Design degree program, who stood out in the national competition “The Forest in a Dress”, promoted by FSC Italy in collaboration with Colombo Industrie Tessili and Sartoria Colori Vivi.
Chiara Bisaccia and Jonathan Evangelista, both third-year students, were awarded first and second place respectively, while Marco Fiore, currently in the second year of the Master’s program, received a special mention for his project “Maspillo.”
The competition, aimed at promoting ethical and sustainable fashion, led to the creation of the first Italian capsule collection certified by FSC, entirely made from responsibly sourced forest-based fabrics such as viscose, lyocell, and modal. The collection was officially presented on June 24 at the exhibition space of Colombo Industrie Tessili in Fino Mornasco.
The three students, selected by a jury of experts in fashion and sustainability, had the opportunity to turn their ideas into unique garments during a workshop held at Colori Vivi Impresa Sociale (Turin), a tailoring company committed to social inclusion and ethical fashion. Their creations were then certified as an FSC project and published in the organization’s international database.
Participation in the competition represented a valuable educational experience, allowing our students to engage with key topics for the future of the fashion industry, such as raw material traceability, responsible production, and the promotion of craftsmanship.
This recognition is a source of great pride for our degree program and confirms the pivotal role that university education can play in promoting a new culture of sustainability in fashion and design.
